"Mix the exact color, adjust the value and temperature, then paint the correct shape." - Monet
And as my professor adds, "That is all there is to it. If you do not get it right the first time, scrape it off."
So simple, right? The first statement by Monet - simple but not easy. The second statement by my professor equals - perseverence.
I want to keep this in mind as I finish this semester of school and after that always. With time, it will become second nature.
Happy Thanksgiving and God bless you all! Psalms 100:4-5 -Tara

Paint the National Parks... That was the practice of Gunnar Wildforss, a Swedish born artist from the early 20th century (he died in 1934 to give you a perspective. Many of his paintings are displayed in the national parks that he painted, some of which are: Yosemite, Grand Canyon, and Yellowstone. He painted in watercolor on locations, en plein air. So inspiring, I love the detail and the depth of the paintings, it brings you in and gives you that feeling of vertigo, without actually being there. I want to paint with that much depth! Look him up on Google Images and see some of his paintings. I would love to know what you think! -Tara PS. This information was gleaned from the current issue of Plein Air magazine.
